Ward, Russell, Medina & Armstrong Represent Titans On All-Region Basketball Teams
MONACA, Pa. – The Community College of Beaver County basketball programs wound up with a quartet of All-Region 20 selections as Jada Ward (First Team), Josie Russell (Second Team) and Brooklynn Medina (Honorable Mention) made the women's squad while Trey Armstrong (Honorable Mention) got the nod on the men's side.
Men:
Arnstrong, a sophomore guard from Hopewell, Pennsylvania, led the Titans in three-point percentage (45.4%), free throw percentage (87.8%), scoring (18.1), field goals (184), three-pointers (85), free throws made (72), steals (1.3), and offensive rebounds per game (1.4) while also recording four double-doubles.
Women:
Ward, a sophomore guard from Cleveland, Ohio, was the Region 20 Player of the Month for February and topped the team in terms of free throw percentage (74.5%), field goals (214), free throws (108), points per game (26.2), assists (4.8), and steals (4.5) as she cobbled together eight double-doubles plus the program's first ever quadruple-double of 25 points, 14 rebounds, 12 steals, and ten assists vs. Westmoreland County.
Russell, a freshman forward from Winchester, Virginia, fronted the Blue and Gold regarding field goal percentage (49.7%), rebounding (13.3), and blocked shots (18), putting up a double-double average nightly via 20.3 points per contest, accruing 16 in 22 games (72.7%).
Medina, a sophomore guard from Martinsburg, West Virginia, earned the honor of Region 20's Player of the Month in January after draining the third-most three-pointers in NJCAA Division II history with a dozen against the WCCC Wolfpack. She was the squad's top Titan statistically in minutes (38.3) and three-pointers (82) on top of averaging 19.7 points alongside four double-doubles.
